Cleveland, OH—A violent crash along Interstate 480 resulted in one fatality and left at least one other person injured Tuesday, September 14, 2010. According to information provided by Fox 8, a car somehow caused a semi-truck to careen off the highway around 3:10 p.m.
Reports indicated an unidentified 18-year-old male was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt along I-480 when he allegedly forced a ‘Tank Integrity Services’ tractor-trailer off the highway.
According to Sgt. Sammy Morris of the Cleveland Police Department, a semi-truck, which was traveling westbound, reportedly toppled down an embankment. The semi eventually crashed onto the Lee Road Exit ramp.
Powell Caesar of the Cuyahoga County Coroner’s office identified the semi-truck driver as 51-year-old Jonathan D. Williams. Williams was killed in the truck wreck. Next of kin has since been informed of his passing.
An unidentified passenger in the ‘Tank Integrity Services’ semi-truck was also allegedly rushed to MetroHealth Medical Center via ambulance. That victim’s medical condition was also withheld.
Cleveland Police reportedly arrested the driver of the Chevrolet on potential charges of aggravated vehicular homicide.
