Chicago, IL– A stunt gone wrong on the set of the upcoming “Transformers 3” movie seriously injured a Chicago woman on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. The accident occurred around 7 p.m., on Clive Avenue in Hammond, Indiana, as reported by the Chicago Sun Times.

Indiana State Police reported that a stunt involving multiple vehicles was being filmed for the “Transformers 3” movie, when an object struck a 2006 Toyota and went through the windshield. The object hit the driver. The Toyota then slammed into the inner median concrete barrier, where it continued to travel for about a mile before coming to a stop. The vehicle sustained major damage to the driver’s side.

An extra in the movie, Gabriela V. Cedillo, 24, of Chicago, was injured in the accident. Cedillo was airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood with serious head injuries.

Cedillio reportedly owned the Toyota involved in the wreck, but was not part of the stunt personnel.

A full investigation into the accident is underway by the Indiana State Police.
