Prince George’s County, MD—A Bryantown man was killed in a construction zone accident when he was crushed between two dump trucks. The fatal accident took place on Thursday, July 15, 2010, on northbound Pennsylvania Avenue/Route 4 around 12:30 a.m., as reported by The Washington Post.

The Maryland State Police reported that William Davis, 27, of Bryantown was crushed between two dump trucks, leaving him with fatal injuries. Davis was reportedly standing on the step to the driver side seat of a dump truck, which was parked in the first lane while trying to get a item from inside the cab of the truck. Another dump truck then backed into the vehicle, crushing David behind the door.

Responding emergency medical crews rushed Davis to a shock trauma center in Prince George’s County for treatment. About an hour after the accident, Davis was pronounced dead.

It is unknown why the other dump truck backed into the truck Davis was reaching into.

Officials with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are expected to arrive at the scene to conduct a full investigation into the fatal accident.
