Madison, WI—Police arrested a man after he slammed his SUV into a strip club and subsequently sped off Tuesday night, July 6, 2010. While some witnesses claimed they had to leap out of the way to avoid being struck by the SUV, the offender contended he never drove the vehicle and was instead transported away from the scene by Martians, according to information provided by Channel3000.com.
Reports indicated 50-year-old Keith Rasmussen was kicked out of Vision’s Night Club, located along East Washington Avenue, after apparently becoming ill in the VIP section. Upon leaving the Madison-based strip club, Rasmussen got in his sport utility vehicle and almost immediately reversed into the front of the building.
Rasmussen then fled the scene in his damaged SUV, eventually coming to a stop in a parking lot. A witness who saw Rasmussen suspiciously speed into the parking lot reportedly called 911.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they asked the seemingly inebriated driver how he was. Rasmussen responded, “Not good,” adding he had “seen some nice strippers.” He also reportedly went on to explain that Martians, as opposed to his SUV, helped him reach his destination.
Rasmussen was allegedly arrested on “suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, reckless driving, hit and run, and entering or leaving a controlled access unlawfully”. Investigations continue.
