Tampa, FL—From alligator sightings in the hallway to a plane’s crash landing on the football field, students and faculty at Stewart Middle Magnet School experienced their share of bizarre occurrences during the last week of the school year. The incidents occurred on Monday, June 7, and Tuesday, June 8, according to information provided by MyFoxTampaBay.com.
On Monday, students arrived at Stewart Middle for what many initially considered to be a typical school day. It wasn’t until a 7-foot gator was discovered meandering about the school’s hallways that they thought otherwise. The animal has since been removed from the premises.
On Tuesday night, the pilot of a small plane was forced to make an emergency landing after experiencing engine difficulties upon his departure from Tampa International Airport (TPA).
While it was not stated if the unidentified pilot sought out medical attention after the aviation accident, he was allegedly able to walk away from the crash scene. No additional injuries were reported.
Parents have certainly noticed the incidents’ affects on their children. “Especially when we see the alligator two days ago, they was excited then saw the plane go down, so it’s crazy… They just was excited when we came this morning and they saw it again… They wanted to get up close and I said no,” parent Crystal Barry stated.
Another parent and volunteer with the school noted, “I heard fire trucks so that kind of brought my attention and thought maybe the school was on fire, but then talked to parents and a plane had landed on its belly.”
Officials from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are investigating Tuesday’s plane wreck.
