Orlando, FL (JusticeNewsFlash.com)–The Florida Justice Association (FJA), formerly the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers (AFTL), is holding their annual 2010 civil trial lawyer convention at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in Orlando. The convention began on Wednesday, June 9 and continues through weekend closing on June 12, 2010. Today Florida’s plaintiffs’ lawyers will meet and hear the legendary civil rights advocate and renowned trial attorney Morris Dees when he addresses FJA members in a special luncheon guest appearance.
Dees, known for his innovative lawsuits that crippled some of America’s most notorious white supremacist hate groups, will speak before hundreds of Florida’s civil trial experts as the keynote speaker for the Justice Luncheon. Dees who has been named one of the 100 most influential lawyers in America by the National Law Journal in 2006, has dedicated his legal expertise and his life to ensure that the promises of the civil rights movement became a reality for all.
The son of an Alabama farmer, he had personally witnessed the painful consequences of prejudice and racial injustice. Dees decided to sell his successful book publishing business to start a civil rights law practice that would provide a voice for the disenfranchised.
The 2010 FJA convention in Central Florida offers the best selection of CLE credits from renowned speakers and trial lawyers. FJA member attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants have the opportunity to advance their courtroom preparation and trial skills at this forefront legal event.
Florida Justice Association will also hold its Board of Directors elections and its annual Presidential Luncheon on Friday, June 11. FJA leaders want to maintain close relationships with existing pro-justice legislators. FJA’s number one priority is to fight for the rights of all Floridians and continues to work tirelessly to defeat tort reform and improve legal protections for the people of the state of Florida.
