Las Vegas, NV—If someone told you that pouring vodka onto your eyeball will give you a buzz, would you do it? Well, that’s exactly what the new, latest and medically dangerous drinking game claims will happen if your brave enough. The game is called “vodka eyeballing,” as reported by Fox5Vegas.
The game goes as follows:
1. Place the shot glass over your eye.
2. Let the vodka soak into your eyeball.
3. Enjoy the buzz.
The unproven theory behind this game is that the alcohol in the vodka is absorbed directly into the eyeball, directly impacting the blood stream.
Doctors say this game is very dangerous and can cause permanent vision damage. The long-term effects include conjunctivitis, keratitis and for the unlucky ones, blindness.
A Las Vegas ophthalmologist, Dr. Kent Wellish said, “Unless you like the feeling of soap every time you blink for the rest of your life, its not a good idea.” Dr. Wellish even claims that “vodka eyeballing” doesn’t even work. Actually drinking the shot is more effective because the alcohol is absorbed more.
Doctors warn against this dangerous game and do not recommend trying it.
