Warsaw IN truck accident: Car struck TSC wall after crash; 2 seriously injured

Warsaw, IN—Two people suffered injuries ranging from serious to critical after a two-vehicle crash, involving a car and pickup truck, occurred on Saturday, April 17, 2010 in Warsaw, Indiana. The initial impact of the motor vehicle collision (MVC) also consequently sent one vehicle careening into the wall of a Tractor Supply Company (TSC) store, according to information provided by the Times-Union.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Warsaw Police Department, Winona Lake Police Department, Multi-Township emergency medical services (EMS), Warsaw/Wayne Township Fire Department and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department were all dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, Dodge Stratus sedan and a TSC wall.

Reports stated the Dodge, driven by 48-year-old David G. Blackburn, was passing through US 30 while traveling on CR 325E when the vehicle stopped on US 30 for unknown reasons. Upon doing so, a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, driven by 49-year-old Steven M. Robinette, smashed into the car. The vehicle then reportedly speed up across westbound US 30, consequently colliding with the wall of a TSC store.

Blackburn was subsequently transported to Lutheran Hospital to be treated by doctors and nurses. He was listed in serious but stable condition. A passenger in the Dodge, identified as 46-year-old Kim W. Kennedy, reportedly had to be extricated from the badly damaged vehicle and then flown to Parkview Hospital via medical helicopter. Kennedy’s injuries were allegedly deemed to be “very critical”. Robinette and his two passengers escaped injury in the two-vehicle wreck.
