SUV accident attorneys alert- A hit-and-run accident killed a Southeast High School student and injured five others in Wichita, KS.
Wichita, KS—A lunchtime crash killed one Southeast High School student and injured five others on Thursday, February 25, 2010. Police officials are now trying to locate a large light-colored SUV that may have been involved in the 11:33 a.m., crash that occurred at Lincoln and Fabrique, as reported by The Kansas City Star.
Six Southeast High School students were reportedly off-campus for lunch in a midsized gray Chrysler that was traveling at a high rate of speed, along with the SUV, when the car lost control. The Chrysler spun around sideways, when it hit a tree in the front yard of a house near Lincoln and Fabrique. One of the occupants, a female, was ejected from the car on impact and tragically died at the scene. Two 16-year-old boys and a girl, a 14-year-old girl, and a 15-year-old girl were rushed to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries. The 16-year-old girl and one of the 16-year-old boys were admitted to the hospital and are listed in fair condition; the rest have since been treated and released. Police officials are looking to allegations that the occupants of the SUV flashed a gun before the collision took place. Investigators also stated that it is possible that the two vehicles collided before the SUV fled the scene. Officials believe the SUV may be a Ford Expedition. A full investigation is underway.
