California train accident lawyers alert- A man was involved in two accidents with a Metrolink train within two weeks.
Santa Ana, CA—A man that was hit by the same Metrolink train in the last two weeks, has lived to tell the story of his frightening encounters. The man was first hit two weeks ago on February 8, 2010, and was hit again on Tuesday, Feb. 23, as reported by KTLA.
The 57-year-old man reportedly told police officials that he fell from the platform onto the tracks each time that he was hit. Two weeks ago, the victim fell and was hit by the Metrolink train in Laguna Nigel. The unidentified victim was then dragged 87-feet, before his left hand was severed. Orange County Sheriff’s office stated that the first incident was determined to be an accident after investigations were complete.
Then on Tuesday morning, the man fell again from the platform at the Irvine station, where a northbound train struck him. The man was rushed to an area hospital by responding emergency professionals for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries. Police requested that a mental health evaluation be conducted on the victim. Investigators are currently trying to determine how the train hit him for the second time. Officials reported that the victim did not indicate that he was trying to kill himself. A full investigation is underway.
