California SUV accident attorneys alert- A Caltrain train crashed into an abandoned SUV in Sunnyvale, CA.
San Jose, CA—Passengers aboard a Caltrain train headed from San Jose to San Francisco got quite the ride when their train slammed into an abandoned SUV, which erupted into a massive fireball. The collision occurred Thursday, February 25, 2010 around 4:50 a.m., as reported by KTVU.
Sunnyvale fire officials reported that the Caltrain train crashed into the abandoned SUV that was sitting idly on the tracks. The commuter train pushed the SUV several yards as flames were shooting from the wreckage. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found the SUV completely engulfed and badly damaged. Thankfully there was no one inside the SUV at the time, and the 30 passenger and crew members aboard the train remained unharmed. No bodies were found along the tracks as well. Police officials are currently trying to determine who the SUV belonged to, and why it was left on the railroad tracks. The Caltrain passengers were evacuated from the train, and waited for a bus to arrive to finish transporting the passengers. The northbound Caltrain commuter line was temporarily suspended while investigators probed the scene of the crash. Officials do not know when they will be able to reopen the tracks.
