High-speed test drive kills woman, injured prospective buyer

California automobile accident attorneys alert- A Chevrolet Corvette test drive injured a prospective buyer and killed the owner.

Santa Ana, CA—A woman who was showing a prospective buyer how well her 2003 Chevrolet Corvette handled on the roadway ended up killing herself and injuring her occupant. The fatal motor vehicle collision (MVC) occurred on Wednesday morning, February 17, 2010 at Lake Forest Drive and Mill Creek Drive, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.

The Laguna Hills woman was reportedly taking her Corvette on a test driver with a prospective buyer when she was apparently traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control. As they were trying to make a turn from Lake Forest Drive onto Mill Creek Drive, she hit a curb, smacked into a tree then broadsided another tree before stopping. The woman, who was identified as Amy Thomas, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency medical crews. The prospective buyer, a man in his late 20’s was injured in the wreck. He was rushed by emergency medical services (EMS) teams to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. The Orange County Sheriff is conducting a full investigation into the fatal wreck. It is unknown how fast she was traveling at the time, or if any charges will be filed.
