Florida criminal lawyer alerts- Motorist arrested after crashing through Martin Luther King Jr. parade, one injured.

Hallandale, FL—A female motorist furiously drove through a Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade, injuring one person before speeding away towards the highway on January 18, 2010, reports the Palm Beach Post.

The incident allegedly occurred around 11 a.m. after a police deputy told the Hollywood woman, 37-year-old Latricia Samuel that she could not park near the 900 block of Northwest Eighth Avenue due to the fact that the roadway was being used as the parade’s main route. Seemingly angered by such restrictions, Samuel reportedly accelerated southbound on Eighth Avenue, only to face the northbound MLK parade. According to police reports, many officers had to leap out of the way to avoid the oncoming vehicle. Three babies, sitting in strollers, were also almost struck in the violent incident. One unidentified victim was allegedly injured in the commotion and transported to an area hospital to be treated by doctors and nurses.

Police cruisers reportedly followed the driver continued to drive towards Interstate 95 on Hallandale Beach Boulevard. Once on I-95, the driver allegedly crashed her vehicle near the Pembroke Road exit where deputies finally apprehended her. It is unknown whether Samuel sustained any injuries in the incident. She was reportedly detained on 13 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Charges are pending.
