Indiana personal injury attorney alert-A police chase in Indianapolis ended badly when a Jeep Cherokee hit a daycare center.

Indianapolis, IN—A police chase ended badly when a Jeep slammed into the side of a daycare center, injuring the children and adults inside. The Jeep Cherokee crashed through the daycare center on Thursday, December 3, 2009 near Allisonville Road and 46th Street around 12:15 p.m., as reported by the Indianapolis Star.

Police officials reportedly started to pursue a red Jeep Cherokee that was related to robbery at a Dollar General Store on Keystone Avenue when the SUV began to flee at a high rate of speed. The SUV apparently missed a turn on Allisonville and continued straight through a bush and a parking lot before it slammed into the side of the daycare center. The SUV was reportedly embedded in the wall all the way to its rear tires, and ignited a fire. Indianapolis firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. Five children, and a woman were injured out of the 20 people inside the facility at the time. Fire officials extracted the two suspects inside the SUV from the wreckage. The children were transported by emergency medical services (EMS) teams to Methodist Hospital for treatment of their non-life threatening injuries. The adult woman was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital for treatment by doctors and nurses. Police officials are investigating the accident.
