Austin, MN—A tour bus rolled over and killed two people and injured 21 others while it was on its way back to Rochester from a one-day trip to an Iowa casino. The tour bus ran off of Interstate 90 and overturned in a ditch on Wednesday, November 17, 2009 around 3:00 p.m. just west of Austin, as reported by WDIO.

The bus, owned by Strain Bus Line Motorcoach Tours in Rochester, was reportedly headed eastbound on I-90, when it veered into the westbound lanes and overturned.

The bus was carrying 23 people, which included the driver when it rolled over onto its right side, trapping everyone inside. Two unidentified victims were killed in the crash; their identities weren’t immediately available. The driver of the bus was transported by emergency medical services (EMS) teams in serious condition to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment. Fourteen passengers were taken by EMS crews to Austin Medical Center, while six others were transported to Albert Lea Medical Center for treatment by doctors and nurses. Police officials reported they have not determined what the exact cause of the crash was. A full investigation into the deadly crash is ongoing. No charges have been filed at this time.
