McHenry County Sheriff alerts Illinois automobile accident lawyers- a crash involving a Chevrolet Trailblazer and a Ford Escort killed one and injured another.
Chicago, IL—A McHenry woman was killed, and another person was injured as a result of a two-car crash outside of Fox Lake. The two-vehicle wreck happened on Thursday night, October 1, 2009 around 9:00 p.m., on Wilmot Road and Route 12, as reported by the Chicago Daily Herald.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office reported, a 2000 Ford Escort was traveling northbound on Wilmot Road, when an eastbound 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer on Route 12 slammed into the driver’s side of the Ford sedan. Both of the vehicles spun out on impact, and stopped in the westbound lanes of Route 12. The driver of the Ford sedan, Joyce M. Nevitt, of McHenry, was transported by area emergency medical services (EMS) crews to the Centegra Hospital for treatment. Nevitt reportedly later died at Centegra Hospital as a result of her serious injuries. Maria P. Morales, 23, of Ingleside, who was driving the Trailblazer, was also injured in the crash. Morales was also transported by EMS teams to the hospital for treatment of her injuries. As of Friday morning, Morales was listed in good condition. Both drivers were reportedly wearing their seat belts, and an airbag did deploy in the Ford when the crash occurred. The fatal two-vehicle crash is under investigation by the McHenry County Major Crash Assistance Team.
