Florida personal injury lawyer-Pinellas Park, Florida accident investigators say a drunk driver hit 2 policemen and a paramedic at a motor vehicle collision site.

An automobile accident on Monday, September 7th, 2009 injured at least four people in Pinellas Park, Florida. According to MyFox Tampa Bay, the motor vehicle collision (MVC) took place on the 10300 block of U.S. 19. Pinellas County roadway accident investigators say the car crash happened around 11:00 p.m., when two police officers were working on another accident. A vehicle, driven by 21 year-old Kevin Chaney of St. Petersburg, was travelling southbound when it struck one of the officer’s patrol cars. Chaney, who had a blood alcohol level of .219, had lost control of the wheel. Authorities say Chaney’s blood alcohol level was almost three times Florida’s legal limit. The owner of the cruiser, Officer John Coleman, fell onto the hood of the cruiser when it pushed into him. Officer Coleman and two Sunstar paramedics at the scene of the previous accident jumped over the barrier to get away from Chaney’s car.

Emergency medical personnel took the two victims from the first accident to Northside Hospital. Officials say their injuries were non-life threatening. The two paramedics and Officer Coleman were transported to Bayfront Hospital by emergency medical services (EMS) crew. They were released after being treated by doctors and nurses. Local area paramedics took Chaney to St. Anthony’s Hospital. The extent of his injuries is unknown. Chaney is now held on $6,250 bond at the Pinellas County jail for charges of DUI, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident involving injury, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
