California personal injury attorney’s alert- A police chase involving a Dodge Neon crashes into a GMC pickup killing 8.

Visalia, CA—A stolen car fleeing from police ended with the deaths of eight people. The tragic crash happened on Saturday afternoon, August 9, 2009, as reported by Fox News.

According to Dinuba police officials, a hijacked Dodge Neon carrying the suspects fled from police for four miles, before the car ran a stop sign at East Nebraska Avenue, ran through an additional stop sign, and then slammed into a 1997 GMC pickup truck. The truck was carrying seven young family members who were on their way to watch their son, Carlos, play in a football game. Police stated the stolen vehicle fled when police tried to pull the automobile over for a traffic violation. All three passengers inside the Neon reportedly were killed instantly, when the car slammed into the truck. The occupants of the pickup truck, parents Carlos and Jennifer Salazar, sustained serious injuries and were transported by emergency medical service (EMS) crews to an area hospital for treatment. Their children, Jocelyn Grace Salazar, 7; Monique Janae Salazar, 3, and Sienna Rose Salazar, 1, were all ejected from the car and were pronounced dead at the scene of the horrific crash. A fifth child, Carlos Eric Salazar, 8, was transported by EMS to an area hospital where he died on Sunday. Officials with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) are investigating the collision.
