Greenwood, MS—NPC International, which owns Pizza Hut, was named in a lawsuit citing 15 plaintiffs who became sick after eating at a Greenwood restaurant. The claimant’s state after eating chicken at the pizza restaurant they became violently ill and are seeking total of $1.1 million in damages.
Fifteen members of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Itta Bena claim they felt nauseas and reported vomiting after eating at the Greenwood restaurant on January 18. Nineteen people in total were treated at an area hospital for their symptoms. Attorney’s representing the victims filed the lawsuit in Leflore County Circuit Court and is requesting an upwards of $75,000 for each plaintiff. Representatives of Pizza Hut stated the lawsuit is without merit, and the FDA and the Mississippi State Health Department did not find anything wrong with the food.
