Miami, FL(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–The Florida Justice Association (FJA) http://www.floridajusticeassociation.org/, formerly the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers (AFTL), is holding their annual 2009 civil trial lawyer convention at the Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club in Aventura, Miami. The rock the house down convention began on Wednesday, June 17 and continues through weekend closing on June 20, 2009. Today Florida’s plaintiff’s lawyers will meet and hear the staunch consumer advocate and renowned trial attorney, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., when he addresses FJA members in a special luncheon guest appearance.
The son of former Attorney General Robert Kennedy and the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy will speak before hundreds of Florida’s civil trial experts as the keynote speaker for the Justice Luncheon. Kennedy has dedicated his legal expertise and his life to defending people and nature against corporate wrongdoers who continue to place innocent lives at risk of serious illness, injury, and even death. He is regularly referred to as an “environmental hero” with his numerous efforts including his work with the Riverkeeper organization which helped restore the Hudson River. He has charged countless campaigns against anti-environmental legislation across the United States and was instrumental in protecting New York City’s water supply.
The 2009 FJA convention in South Florida offers the best selection of CLE credit from renowned speakers and trial attorneys. FJA’s member attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants have the opportunity to advance their court room preparation and trial skills at this forefront legal event.
Florida Justice Association will also hold its Board of Directors elections and its annual Presidential Luncheon on Friday, June 19 at 12:30 p.m. FJA legal leaders want to maintain close relationships with existing pro-justice legislators.
