Cook County judge to hear Oakland Park murder of 2 year old.
Chicago, IL (JusticeNewsFlash.com)–The Chicago Sun Times reported an aunt was charged with the of murder her 2-year-old niece on Monday, April 6, 2009. Nours Hadid, 26, was charged by Chicago prosecuting attorneys, with one count of first-degree murder after an autopsy revealed the child died from blunt force trauma. The bond hearing for Hadid is scheduled for Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at the Bridgeview Courthouse, according to Cook County District Attorneys Office. The 2-year-old toddler was taken to Palos Community Hospital in Palo Heights, Illinois, on Sunday, where she was pronounced dead by doctors at 6:27 p.m.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office performed the autopsy and determined the cause of death. According to Oakland Park Police Department homicide detectives, police responded to a 911 call at 5:43 p.m., in the 9000 block of West 140th Street, stating the household needed emergency medical assistance. Investigators said Nours Hadid had made the call and said she found her niece unresponsive. Hadid lived at the home with the child as well as three other children. The Department of Children and Family Services said the three other children living in the Oakland Park home have been removed and placed into protective custody.
