New York (New York, NY)–The first wrongful death lawsuit, against Continental Airlines claiming negligence, was filed by an airplane crash lawyer on Thursday in court. The aviation accident attorney, representing the family of one of the 50 passengers and crew who died on Flight 3407, is asserting a number of allegations. The sons, of passenger Susan Wehle from Amherst, consulted with a personal injury lawyer specializing in plane crash claims and wrongful death cases to file the lawsuit in US District Court.
The wrongful death suit claims Continental Arilines, Pinnacle Airlines, Colgan Air and Bombardier Aerospace as negligent parties in the crash of Flight 3407 outside Buffalo, New York more than two weeks ago killing everyone onboard and one ground civilian. The attorney, for the grieving children, claims the Bombardier Q400 turbo prop plane should have been grounded and not permitted to take off in the icy weather. The National Transportation and Safety Board (NTSB) www.ntsb.gov is still investigating the prop plane’s wreckage and debris to find the cause of the fatal Continental Connection plane crash, which claimed the lives of the passengers, crew and one homeowner on the ground on February 12, 2009.
